Ayurveda Panchakarma Therapy

Ayurveda panchakarma therapy is the set of personalized procedures that help to detox and rejuvenate the body and mind.

What is Ayurveda Panchakarma?

Ayurveda panchakarma therapy involves five actions that help in cleansing the body of accumulated toxins and aims to restore health.  The five actions are Vamana, Virechana, Vasti, Nasya and Raktamokshana.

What are the preparations?

The entire panchakarma treatment involves 3 major procedures. They are Purva Karma (Preparatory procedure), Pradhana Karma(Main procedure) and Paschat Karma(pot treatment procedure).

Purva Karma

Purva karma is the first step of panchakarma procedures that prepares the body for the Pradhana Karma, the actual panchakarma. Purva Karma starts with consultation, assessment, dietary modification, lifestyle modifications, ayurveda medicines, Snehana (Oil massage and ghee intake) and Swedana (Sweating therapy).

Pradhana Karma

Pradhana Karma is the second and main step of the Panchakarma procedures. This step aims to eliminate the toxins from the body using various actions like Vamana (emesis), Virechana (Purgations), Vasti (Enema), Nasya (Nasal medication) and Raktamokshana (Bloodletting). These procedures are chosen based on the individual’s Prakriti dosha (Vata, Pittha, Kapha) and Dushya (Vitiated doshas)

Pashchat Karma

Pashchat karma is the third step of the panchakarma procedure that helps to heal and restore the body after detoxification. This procedure is called the procedure of rejuvenation. It is recommended to follow a nourishing diet and regimen for well being.
